I'm giving bering v3.0 beta 1 a spin, but ran into problems getting it
up and running. After a couple of days pulling my hair out while trying
various things, I isolated my problem to being a missing usb host
driver. The image I downloaded was this one:

From what I understand of it, some systems (the majority) use usb-uhci and
some use ehci-hcd. That could be a reason why you have a problem with
booting and others have not.
I'm interested to know if loading both modules works in every situation
and don't break systems that have an uhci
