There are a few options to save them.
You can create a simple lrp package which contain the scripts or you
can load the local.lrp package and add them in the list, so they will
be stored in the configdb (first read the help file of the local.lrp
package).

do some nightly maint work. I had them in the /root directory and
saved them by backing up root.
My understanding is that with ver 3 this no longer occurs. Only the
config files are saved.
