Tom, I understand your position and I appreciate your assistance greatly. I can't say if it is a Shorewall or Bering issue but when I tried your suggestions using the 1.3.3 Shorewall distro, it worked so smoothly I had to retry the 1.3.6 version just to be sure it wasn't me. The result is that
