It's because the kernel is compiled with CONFIG_NOHIGHMEM=y in the
kernel config. Bering-uClibc is an

I am using Bering uClibc 2.3 with OpenVPN. Everything works reaaly well

Eric,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I understand the reason - in this case I was looking at running BGP with
a full set of internet routes ( about 400,000 at the last count), and I
dont want the system to have any chance of running out of memory. I have
a Redhat type system currently doing the
Hi Bob,
The revoke-full script is a very simple shell script which only uses
openssl (you need the openssl.lrp package, probably the reason why the
script isn't added by default), so I don't see any reason why it shouldn't
work. I think you just can use it as is on Bering-uClibc.

Hi Derek,
A simple recompile of the kernel with the higmem option enabled should be
enough. Using the buildtool environment for it is the most convenient
option (you don't have to apply the kernel patches by hand in that case).
Very interesting case by the way!

Eric,
Thanks for that, I will download a fresh copy of the current release and
give it a try :)
BTW - I think 2Gb is probably a bit OTT for my requirement but I
wouldn't want a BGP box to fail for the sake of a bit of memory.
Best regards,
Derek

Just wondering how did you config your memory usage? Could you please show us
your *.cfg files? Thanks.

Derek,
I have a running system wich is exactly what you describe : BGP router with
full routing table running LEAF to eliminate the hard disk. It has been
happily running with 512MB for about 2 years now.

Thanks for answering, but the revoke script is neither in the openvpnz

Hi Bob,
Correct, but you can just copy the script from the openvpn source to the
Bering-uClibc system and make it executable.

Kwon,
You could always take the relevant packages from the CF image and move
them to your floppy. There is a qbox.lrp, but there are also some
dependencies on other modules that I can't name off the top of my
head.
