Hi all -
Here it is: https://forum.lede-project.org
You can now self-register without admin approval.

now have a very usable site. We may still tweak the style, layouts and options

Just my humble opinion.
That piece of software looks great.
Isn't there any other free (as in beer) alternative?

Hi all -
First off, thanks for all the feedback, suggestions and volunteers. For
starters, and perhaps to become permanent, we have set up a copy of Discourse
(http://discourse.org) for testing and evaluation. It is a very popular package
for new organizations and it has a pretty active community

I am of the same opinion.
The OpenWrt forum didn't need any moderation for long time (years!),

BBcode was astonishing in the last 90's when it first came out. But requiring
BBcode to to make decent formatting for messages is a big disincentive 15 years
later.

Folks,
I was planning to advocate for a forum as well. I have enjoyed using the
Discourse forum (http://discourse.org) with several projects. (If you haven't
seen it, it's a new forum system, designed by people who have used lots of bad
ones, and intend to fix those problems.) I have some

A bit more setup, but fudforum (Fast Uncompromising Discussion Forum,
fudforum.org) can integrate with nttp, which mailman can then integrate with
mailing lists, allowing for full interaction between people accessing the forum
through all three methods.

Hi i have bin looking around at forums on the web and it seems that
discourse, is not good with a screen reader. From what i can see phpBB
seems to be the best for a11y.

i would rather give http://flarum.org a shot. it's new, it's shiny and
in my opinion very lightweight compared to the two mentioned "oldies" :)

Hi Ted and all,
PhpBB or SMF (Simple Machines Forum) are popular free choices and take a
minute or so to setup.
The other day on IRC I had a few people telling me how bad of an idea a
forum is, and now it seems to be on the agenda ;)
I'd say set up the forum, content and mods will be done
