What is amount order? The 'register' and 'print' commands in C++Ledger always
outputs postings in the order you entered them.

If I post say 10 transactions of various amounts on a certain day - how do
I get the system to stop putting the transactions in amount order? I want
to keep them in the order as I enter them.

My apologies - - - - that's exactly what the error was!!
It seems that what I think I'm seeing isn't always what I 'am' seeing.

Hanging head - - - - but I sure didn't see the second sign!

Thanking you for your patience!!!

(I also understand the error codes a bit better! - - - Oh well - - - even
screw ups help learn things!)

Regards

And there aren't two $ signs on the line, as the error suggests?

Can you post a small testcase somewhere? You can change the account
name and number (date, payee, etc...), as long as you still get the
error.

Question from ledger activity

2020-10-16 Thread o1bigtenor
Greetings

I cannot get rid of a couple of 'errors' thrown when I use the command
"ledger bal -f file/location .
Error as follows:

While parsing posting:
  Asset: xxx Mastercard : 1002.30.00.30
  $$0.18

^^
Error: No quantity specified for amount

The space between the end of the account code and the amount is a
discrete number of tabs.
I've tried removing all the tab spaces and then re-applying the tabs
but that isn't removing the 'error'. Just in case it makes a
difference I'm using the xfce4-terminal as my terminal.

TIA
