I can recommend bootstrap. I have been using it for other products and so
far, it is _great_. I even had a 'do my own CSS for LSMB based on
bootstrap' on my TODO list ...
It will make the interface 'modern' while cutting about a bunch of code ...
at least in my experience.

I've long thought "Search" isn't a report - at least not from an user
expectations point of view. Besides "Search" is an action I need very
regularly - when considering the customers menu, I need it more often than
"Add customer", so it's more efficie
Me too. I've long thought that the arbitrary division into goods and services
reports was artificial and that inventory movements belonged with parts and
services. Go for it!
