Re: [LU] [Non LU] Good omen?
I find compulsory voting an affront to freedom of speech. Or the freedom to not speak. If people don't know or don't care about an issue, then it is better they don't vote and their influence on a vote something people ARE bothered about is zero. Still 69% for a NO vote, on a higher than expected turnout, is pretty resounding. Pretty resounding whether you measure it FPTP or as a proportion of voters in an AV way. Still, never mind chaps, as Labour are SO committed to AV, I am sure they will have it in their next manifesto so you can vote for it again that way. I am positive (in a FPTP way, 49%) they will ignore the fact 69% of people DON'T want it and stick with their principles. My AV on the matter however is no they wont because they are more bothered by getting elected regardless of which principle they have to eject. [LU] Lees Leeds and reality check
Nice to know where are expectations lay. Published on Saturday 7 May 2011 10:30 LEEDS UNITED will push Tom Lees towards a competitive debut for the club next season after revealing that interest in the young defender is growing on the back of his outstanding year at Bury. United have received a number of enquiries about Lees’ availability following his contribution to Bury’s promotion from League Two this season. The 20-year-old has played a central role in Bury’s top-three finish, and the club were bidding to snatch the title from Chesterfield during the last round of fixtures this afternoon, Lees worked with United’s first-team squad during their last two pre-season campaigns but manager Simon Grayson opted to send him out on loan for the second time last summer, following on from a previous spell at Accrington Stanley. His 49 outings with Bury have pushed him to within five games of his 100th senior appearance, and Lees could be given the chance to make his competitive debut for Leeds in the Championship next term. Grayson said: “We felt that going out on loan again would benefit him as a footballer and as a person. Monitored “He’s had a great year, he’s scored goals and he’s been part of a successful team. We’ve monitored him and had him watched a lot. “He’ll come back to us, play in our pre-season games, and if he’s good enough to play in the Championship then we’ll have no problem with him doing that. If we think he’s going to be a little bit short then he’ll go out on loan again. But there are plenty of clubs who would like to take him. I’ve had clubs ringing me up already about his availability. For such a young kid to have nearly 100 appearances under his belt is great experience.” United, meanwhile, have pleaded guilty to a Football Association charge of failing to control their players during last weekend’s 1-0 win over Burnley. The club, who were fined £7,500 for a similar offence earlier in the season, have requested a personal hearing. I'd take Kisnboro as a bit player. I should think that psychologically age and maturity would all be to his advantage. As it was muscular it should not have s lasting effect. Re: [LU] QPR
Queens Park Rangers will not face a points penalty this season or next, the Football Association has confirmed. The Championship club have been found guilty of two charges by the FA's Regulatory Commission, following an investigation into the acquisition of Alejandro Faurlin, but have escaped a points deduction. As a result, the club will be handed the second tier title following Saturday's home date with Leeds and will take their place in the Premier League next season. The club had been left sweating on promotion, with a points penalty likely to have seen them dropped into the play-off places. [1]Neil Warnock [cid:part1.00050908.07030400@gmail.com] and his side can now relax and enjoy their weekend celebrations, while putting in place plans for a shot at the top flight next season. The Championship play-off schedule will also remained unchanged, ending fears that fixtures could be delayed while the FA pondered what action to take against QPR. A statement released on the FA's official website read: The Regulatory Commission hearing charges brought by The FA against [2]Queens Park Rangers [cid:part1.00050908.07030400@gmail.com] FC wish to announce that although two of the charges have been found to be proved there will be no points deduction made from Queens Park [3]Rangers [cid:part1.00050908.07030400@gmail.com] FC in this season or the next. Best I have seen from O'Brien since we signed him permanently. Great to see Kisnorbo playing again (and what a nice move from Grayson to put him on, although it nearly backfired as he made two horrid mistakes!) Team for next season: Schmeichel (I hope we hold on to him.) Connolly Kisnorbo Lees Parker Max Killer (sign him up) HowsonSnodders McCormackSomma That is a good basis for me.
