How many people who buy replica kits actually care what it looks like? I'm
guessing there are loads and loads of fans who buy every kit, religiously,
regardless of the style of colouring. Then there are loads of kids who get
them bought for them as birthday/Christmas/well done for passing

I certainly used to. It became more of a collection thing than anything - I
had every home and away shirt that was on sale between 1989 and sometime in
the early

I think that's the main problem as the middle age spread continues to spread
covering it in tight fitting polyester becomes more uncomfortable and certainly
less flattering :-) Also once you get to a certain age you do tend to look a
bit of a sad git in replica kit.

I've lost nearly 8 stones, so have gone way
past being able to fit into previous shirts - The
ones I did have hung like tents on me and had to
be given away (to fellow list members of stature I
might stress).
I have had to replace my entire wardrobe 2 to 3
times so have not got around to
Steve - don't take the original mail subject seriously. Start eating again,
you know it makes sense!

Oh, I still eat alright, and well, just a whole
lot less and a good deal more selectively
Cheers

Some of us are from a generation when to support your team you went to games
with a scarf, wore
rosettes and a woolly hat. There where no replica shirts in those days never
mind city centre club shops
and outlets at grounds where few and far between.
Leeds though where the first club to start
As a kid in 70's London I had the kit with the tags on the socks (wore those
too.) When was that? Vividly remember wearing it all for my birthday and
playong on Palewell Commonjust can't remember which birthday.
From: Guy Thornton
I think those tags were introduced in FA cup final 1972.

They where indeed used at the '72 cup final but the 71/72 season saw there
introduction so where first
used earlier in the season.
The scripted LUFC logo was first used in the 71 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup victory
against Juventus

I think those tags were introduced
Kenny, Thompson, Lees, Pugh, Drury, Green, Brown, Norris, White, Varney, Poleon
That is a few times Pugh has played centre back - wonder if he has anything to
offer there ?
Not too much can be read into it since McDermott did say he was basically
starting with those who did not start last
Cairns, Peltier, Murphy, Austin, Hunt, Warnock, Lenighan, McCormack.
So Austin is back but no Smith
Also still no Diouf or Byram - McDermott reckons it is doubtful if Sam will be
fit for Brighton game - this, as it stands would probably mean Peltier at right
back and Pearce in the
Varney header after cross by Austin(on for Green / Norris - Ross on at same
time)
Very poor 1st half and lucky it was 0 0
Much better play so far in second

MARCHING ON TOGETHER
Is he the surprise player of the season
I hope that Poleon will do something
Also believe that White will come good.

Bad news Ross got subbed with a groin problem
Crowd of 2,751 with 1400 Leeds fans - amazing turn out once again
Awful first half and bad start to second but then we started to pass and move
and look dangerous - it was one way traffic after Varney made the break through
