Yeessssssss !

Great result but make no mistake this was a hard game and we struggled second
half against a poor Luton team. Izzy Brown for me was the best midfielder on
the park and I was very glad he was subbed because he was running us ragged and
created their goal.

For me, we lost our way 2nd half and that hasn’t happened many times this
season. I thought the last ball and some of our passing today was woeful. I
also thought defensively we were poor ( except White who was a one man defence
at times). Ayling was really poor and Beradi had his worst game for Leeds. He
looked slow and I’ve never said that.

We still had chance after chance but most of our efforts were rolled tamely
into the keeper’s arms.

It’s very interesting that mindset settled this game. Luton, having equalised
and having their best football of the game suddenly realised that a point would
be a good result. They took their best player off and sat back, that helped us
get ourselves together and get the winner. Bad management from them.

Scores:

Casilla - 6. One decent save and no chance with the goal

Ayling - 3. I thought he was really poor, he looks shaky and hesitant and I
would put Dallas straight back in that position.

White - 8. Was a one man defence at times.

Beradi - 3. I think that was his worst performance for Leeds. Was he playing
centre back or left back , I don’t think he knew and he really struggled
against a lively Luton winger , who also was strangely taken off2nd half

Philips - 5. I think it was interesting to see him up against Izzy Brown and at
times he struggled. Brown has acceleration and that bit extra, Kalvin doesn’t
however in the other hand Izzy went off, probably cos he was knackered, whereas
Kalvin was still putting tackles and pushing forward to the end. I just wish
Kalvin had a bit more pace. Not his best game.

Hernandez - 7. Lively, had loads of the ball. Loads of lose passes but he was
there and he made things happen.

Klich - 5. You can never accuse Klich of doing nothing, he’s everywhere but
today his passing and link up play was poor and he had 2 great goal scoring
chances and he fluffed them. He’s lost that aspect of his game for now.

Dallas - 6. Looked lost playing left midfield. Still did a lot of good stuff
but give him the right back position.

Harrison- 5. Missed the easiest chance of the game and as usual promised a lot
but delivered little.

Bamford - 7. Good to see him on the scoresheet but he really should have had a
hat trick today. Missed a real sitter second half when he volleyed over from 5
yards.

Roberts- 3. Nothing happened for Roberts today. Sometimes his football is just
a bit too clever.

Subs :

Costa - 5. Yes he got on the ball in good positions but like Harrison he just
didn’t deliver.

Clarke - 5. It was good to see him play but it was immediately clear that his
first thought was to turn inside and play the ball back rather than run at the
defence. He wouldn’t have considered that last season needs to get his
confidence back.

Cooper - 7. Steadied us and won some good challenges and did some great cross
pitch passes.

So overall, this was a fantastic performance but it was worrying the way we
lost our way 2nd half. I think fucking about with the defensive formation ,
changing 4 to 3 then back.

Vino time.
