Chundi Productions is presenting a fantastic anti-racist play, Man Friday,
by Adrian Mitchell.

The play takes the Robinson Crusoe story and turns it on its head--letting
the indigenous servant Man Friday tell the tale from his perspective.

As the producers note: "Money, god, war, football, love and death--there's
plenty of time to talk when you're stuck on a small island without a boat.

"There are people in positions of power in Europe who would deny the Jewish
Holocaust. There are people in positions of power who would deny the
generations of stolen children in Australia. There are people in positions
of power who would fill us with fear about refugees and asylum seekers.

"The way stories fo the past are told depends on who tells them ...
Friday's story has to be told again!"

This production played to great acclaim in Canberra and at the Adelaide
Festival a couple of years ago when One Nation was at its height.

It is being put on in Melbourne now to challenge the racism of the Howard
government.

Actors Adam McConvell and Phil Roberts and the crew have agreed to give
over half the performances as anti-racist benefits.

* Tuesday, August 1-Friday, August 4: for the Fitzroy Stars Koori Youth
Program.

* Saturday, August 5: for the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service.

* Monday, August 7: for Socialist Worker.
