The Jabiluka Action Group invites you to a two-day conference "Educate and
Activate" to be held at Melbourne University Student Union this coming
weekend 5-6 June.

The conference has been organised around the themes of "Land Rights, the
Nuclear Industry, Activism in Australia" 

Highlights include:
Opening and welcome from Joy Murphy, elder, Wurundjeri people (traditional
owners of Melbourne)

Koori speakers: 
Monica Morgan and Wayne Atkinson, speaking on the Yorta Yorta people's
campaign for land rights and justice.
Gary Foley, representing the Mirrar-Gundjehmi Aboriginal Corporation,
speaking on the campaign to stop the Jabiluka uranium mine.
Robbie Thorpe, Koori (Gunnai) activist, speaking on the (il)legal basis of
European occupation and jurisdiction.
Tony Birch, Koori activist and historian, speaking on the history of
colonisation in Victoria.
Aunty Betty King (KerrupJMara), speaking on land rights in Victoria.

Anti-nuclear speakers:
Dr Jim Green, campaigning against new reactor at Lucas Heights in Sydney
Belinda Alexandrovics, researcher into radiation levels and worker health.
Jacob Grech, speaking on the effects of depleted uranium
Daniel Voronoff, speaking on campaign to stop national radioactive waste
dump at Billa Kalina, SA, and the Pangea international nuclear waste proposal.
Dave Sweeney, giving an overview of Australia's nuclear expansionism
Gavin Mudd, speaking on "in situ leach" mining.
Ila Marks, Greg Adamson and Sandra Bloodworth on the lessons of
anti-nuclear movement in the late 1970s
