GLOBAL INSIGHTS - Australia's most inspiring Festival and Videomagazine, is set to return for 2001
In an age dominated by powerful media monopolies, Global Insights presents a collection of short videos from around the world with a focus on grass-roots peoples' action. Take part in a festival of subversion and bear witness to a very different perspective on the most vital issues facing the planet. Since GLOBAL INSIGHTS 3, the world has seen an amazing explosion of new media activism - as well as the growing interest from mainstream television outlets in this kind of material: is it an attempt to reinvigorate a sterile and artificial tv culture, or just because it's cheap to purchase?
