Hi Tim, a have used a simpler version for making pocket watches but that was
for a 1 3/8” watch insert.
These are much fancier and look to be very well made.

I was thinking the same thing as well as it may limit the ultimate finish
selection.
Assuming linseed oil is the finish maybe glueing could occur prior to the water

the right may be more stable in the hand to hold steady.

I have a similar situation, I got my shopsmith before my legacy and still need
to make things more interchangeable between the two.
Nice find on the handles, Tim’s right, thats likely less than they cost to
make. Definitely provides some freedom to tinker when one isn’t worried about
