I refer to that same capability in my shop as modularity. That principle
is used
in many areas in my shop from storage to workbench accessories. Yes, it's
important,
me thinks, to be able to move a spindle from lathe to LOM without mismatch
by using similar mounting methods. It's a good practic
(Sorry guys!) Here is a side note on the same topic.
Uniformity, in my shop is the goal. NO ONE machine is the best ,for everything.
I have set my shop to work with "ALL" the same equipment. I cantake a spindle
and move it to the lathe or either of my Legacy's with outchanging anything. So

"O" I forgot to tell everyone, that when and if I choose to put a router back
on my 200, I have another Z axis for it, with a router already mounted, So
change over will only take a min. to do. But for the time being, T

Hey Dan
a few other little tid-bits.
the grinder cutting angle is like you noted. 90 deg. so the cuts look a
littledifferent form what I router will make, but it also gives you the look of
an Ornamental turning of the past. this (I think) is due to the type of cutters
mostOT machines use. The
Hello Dan
the profile was cut to the pattern of the template.once set, I can finely
adjust the cuts depth. then the cut following the templatewill only cut to the
depth it was set for. Yes on a very big profile change the cut will be somewhat
angled. but for most of what I am doing, this is not
I was greatly confused...it doesn't take much. I couldn't decide if it
was supposed to be "taper" but when the workpiece came off, it
was clear it could be a tapper handle. But I'm guessing out of
ignoranceI don't frequent places that use tappers, so my
vocabulary has been enhanced (again).
Thank you Bill for posting this for me.
