I’ve also used screws when I need the most positive quick method. Just make
your stock a little longer for the screws and keep them away from the router
bits!

In production, I would use low profile lamps (manual) or air cylinders or a
vacuum table or wedges, anything but double sided tape. Never trust small
items to double sided tape.
