and am able to transfer all my Legacy Data over to the PDA using Gedstar.
My desktop computer uses Windows XP and I have no problem taking data over

In family view, open the family where Karen is the daughter. Right click on
any of the children, and choose "Children's Settings." Highlight Karen and
see if there is an entry in "Relationship to Father" at the bottom. If so,
make sure it is correct.

a) Find the Legacy backup file and double click it so you open the zip file
b) use windows explorer to open the Legacy Data folder
c) select and copy the missing files to the zip file

Assuming that you really do have a CD burner (it will
have a symbol stamped in the front of the tray that
has more words than just Compact Disc)
then
assume that Windows is correct and that there is
something wrong with the CD-R in it. Remove that
disc and put in a NEW, BLANK CD-R disc, and t
CD-Rs do NOT have such reliability. The longest average life
you could expect out of a standard CD-R nowadays would be
two years, PROVIDED you kept it under truly ideal conditions,
which most of us have no hope achieving.
Good luck finding archival CD-Rs. I haven't seen any at all for
over two year

Correction. You do not have to rename a file to burn
it again on a CD-R. As long as it has a later version
date it will "replace" the existing file, and the older
file will be invisible for all practical purposes.
