I used to import a Legacy created GEDCOM into FTM when I wanted to create a
chart that Legacy couldn't. However, I just noticed that the RIN #'s are not
jiving. Instead of spending hours trying to figure out why, I am thinking
about biting the bullet and picking up one of the Legacy Charti

done before - it's so much easier to undo by restoring a backup.

This is probably a stretch, but did you back up your file when exiting on
that date? If so, and you have more than one backup file, look in the folder
where your backups are kept and see if there is a file with the date and
time of your lost data. If there is, it probably got backed up to the

Thanks for your response. I didn't change the preferred family, but I've accepted that my doing the transactions I did then the modified date would have been changed.
However I did definately lose the data input bwtween 1500hrs and about 2100hrs on 1st August. I'm at a loss to explain as Lega
