That should not be the case. I run quite a bit of beta software and generally treat my machine pretty badly, often when Legacy is running, and have never had to reinstall. Have you looked into your computer maintenance, does it need the air vents cleaning - is it overheating, have you run a RAM

You are correct. I placed the the em dash on the Legacy Special Character Toolbar to see if that would help. I then opened a Notes page, clicked on the Toolbar em several times and it displayed properly. Closed and then reopened Notes. The ems had shrunk to skinny little hyphens (ens).

Not a dumb question at all — I should have had the foresight to know not everybody knows what they are. This is an em dash — This is an en dash - I am sure you have seen them if you read the newspaper. I use the em dash a lot so it frustrates me that it won't stay in the notes.   _
