I've just received someone else's family who is related to me.
I have gone through and compared files (Tools/Compare Files) and updated
data on the same people by using split screen and drag and drop.
BUT how do I get a list of all those that are on the new file that aren't on
mine.

I have 4 separate family files: one for my family, one
for my fiance's family, one for my half-sister's
father's family, and one for my ex-husband's family. I
also have them in separate GEDCOMs on Rootsweb. This
way, my soon-to-be inlaws don't have to slog through
family that isn't related to them.

Actually I do put the country at the end of the full address but omit it from
the shorter, this is to make it clear that the Manchester I live in is the one
with the soccer team rather than the one in the States :).
I use the longer address when publishing. What I really do not like

Actually it could be any number of things - it could be a system problem, it
could be a corrupted program, most likely it's *not* a data program.
When a user gets that error message, I have them uninstall and reinstall
Legacy, making sure that all programs are shut down and especially their

Did you try copying the contents of the CDs to your computer? A PC
usually needs to write to the folder where it finds the data, and it
won't be able to do that from a CD, since you can't write to it like
you can to a hard drive. I don't know what you have on the CD, though.

Select the two people... it will show the decendant lines (with a direct
descendant, there will just be the one line...)
Click on the Print button. (you can preview after that if you want)
You will get the nice little chart you want.
