Legacy gives three options for Child Status - None, Stillborn and Twin.
It is quite possible for a child to be both Stillborn and Twin (or any
other multiple, which could be added to the list) but it doesn't seem to
be possible to indicate more than one status.

I downloaded Picasa2 and it looks very nice to organize my pictures. Problem is
that now my pictures that are already attached in Legacy are MIA. I also cannot
attach new pictures. I tried changing the location of the pictures in the
options list but don't know exactly where to point the path.
If I remember correctly, Picasa does not actually 'store' your photos,
but will index them and give you access to where you have stored them.
It should be able to find any photos on your computer and give you
access to them. Where do you have your Legacy photos stored - is it

I haven't changed anything, the pictures still come up in the Legacy picture
folders I stored them in. I changed some names from within Legacy Picture
center, but not in Picasa2. I will try the reset path in the Options and see
what happens.
Thanks for all of your help, I'll let you know
Hi Nancy,
I can't tell you anything about Legacy's dictionary (though you may like
to look up dictionary in the Help files - there's an entry there that
you may find helpful) and I've not attempted to spell-check anything in
Legacy (yet!), but whenever I add words to any dictionary I make

How does one preview a gedcom to make sure it doesn't include people or
items one didn't intend to be included?
If I unlink an individual will that also remove his wife, her ancestors and
children, if I select all attached family?
Any other advice will be welcome.

Diane,
A Gedcom is only a text file and can be opened and read in any text file eg
Notepad. However, the easiest (and cheapest) way may be to import it back
into legacy giving it a different name and one can then look at the index.
This would certainly be the best if it is a large file.

Hi Wendy
If you go to Options, Select Language, you could change it to English -
Australia. Then you wouldn't have to change color to colour etc.

Hi Jenny
I'm not clear about what you are trying to do. If you want give a child two
or more status 'labels', simply combine them as a new status and use that,
eg stillborn twin. The new term is added to the search engine, so if you
want to search for all children with that status, you can find
CCC records are in the National Archives and at the Civilian Personnel
Records Center in St. Louis. It will be very useful to provide as much
information as you can, including date and place of birth and death (you may

I was able to select both statuses, but only one displayed in the list of
children. It took the last one.
Can we hear from our great Support team on this one?

I think the dictionary is the MSOffice one, and it is

you add words to the file, they will be permanent.
This includes all Surnames, First Names, Place Names

more, but I at one time was given
Marli, just remember that Picasa2 is basically an organizer of all
the images in folders you choose it to index. If you have a specific
folder where you store all the images related to your Legacy families,
it will index those (it won't move them unless you physically do that)
