*I* did not get the error message. You found a trial version? I googled,
and that didn't come up in the first 30 hits for me. Could you send me a
link?
They did not give me the exact wording, but they said it indicated the
Legacy created PDFs were corrupted. But I seriously doubt that.
Hi
Can anyone help with a problem I have when printing a Family Group Report
page. For some reason, it cuts off the text and lines three-quarters of the
way down the page e.g. it will print the Child's name and all the text but
the lines and border belonging ot this page are printed print
Thanks. I didn't intend to suggest the DEAT Y tag was incorrect, only that
it created problems in FTM with the creation of blank Locations instead of
non Locations. Like I said I have a lot of issues with FTM and this is a
small one.

I once printed a pedigree chart using Family Tree Maker that was taped

I would not have thought so, but haven't tried using Legacy in another
language. One thing, though, I suspect that the keyboard short cuts will not
be the same because (a) I expect you have an English keyboard and (b) The
initial letter of the German function will be different.
Following this thread, I decided to test NitroPDF with a known problem

Most software does this now. Adobe 7 and 8 both require net access to
verify registration. Most software does not come with an uninstaller, simpy

Nitro is a capable, cost effect alternative to Adobe .

I think your best choice is to load your ged file into a text editor
and do a global search and replace. I presume that is what you are
doing now. This is a relatively simple process.
Another way is to resurrect all your dead persons in Legacy by making
them living. But this is not nearly

The thread started as a question about Legacy PDF generated files. The question specific to Nitro
was whether it would read a Legacy generated PDF file.

Nitro works for me as a solution to the Legacy output issue often
discussed here where pictures don't display well in Legacy RTF output even
though they look great in Legacy PDF's. (Also, because Legacy PDF's do

To get this back on track the issue was about how to create large charts
from PDFs in Legacy. You have to have PDF software that can distill a PDF to
do this. Or to convert rtf to PDF requires a distiller. Planet PDF has a
bunch of products listed. But the bottom line appears that to do large
I printed the report but it uses numerous pages.
I changed the layout to landscape and it's great BUT it does not print complete lines omitting one to three letters. I changed the widths of the 'date' and 'event' columns to their narrowest setting (1"0) but it still does not work.

Hi Kenneth,
Could you give more information about what type of information is
being cut off?
Are you printing straight to paper or to pdf?
Is it also occurring in the screen preview?
Everything seems to be word wrapping for me unless I have several
