I'm new to Legacy and have a question.
I'm about to try and import a large gedcom (600,000+ people).
Has anyone got any hints or clues as to possible problems I may encounter?
Thanks for your time.

Brilliant! I love knowing that each time I close my Legacy file on my

Thanks for your prompt and reliable as always reply. I just now
checked the boxes Show People and Show Map on the Master Location

If others aren't aware of this feature, avail yourself of it---it's a
worthy addition.
Thanks again,

Hi,
Does anyone have any recommendations for how to name photos on one's
computer? I had started by saving them as last-name first-name
date-taken. That works well for pictures of only 1 person where I know
the date it was taken. It doesn't work all that well for group photos.
Or old photos
Probably the update after v7.0.0.55 when they removed the very useful
option to merge a basic source into a sourcewriter source.
The programmers assume we are all idiots and try to make it idiot
proof even if it means removing a useful feature.

There may be a place to print such a list, and I recommend you look at the

think it's in there somewhere. Good luck and have fun.

The best thing, of course, is to find other documentation of the same items,
so that you don't have to maintain such bits and pieces as real sources. For
instance, if someone sent you a birthdate and place for someone - go get the
certificate of birth or death to support her statement.

You probably need to export the file as a gedcom. You may need to move that gedcom up to more recent versions one at a

I tried and Legacy didn't understand the file format. Do you know of, (or

that could convert these files?

Yes, the program is called Family Tree Maker 1.1 (and perhaps some or all
