I am late responding to this.
What I do is keep my primary data and multimedia on a 40GB USB drive.
When I use my laptop, I remove the USB drive from my desktop and
attach it to my laptop. I always backup when I leave Legacy and
backup to the hard drive of whichever computer I am currently using.

research but I think there is probably a better way than taking the backup
and the multimedia backup. Any Suggestions?
