Passage Express is still an Add On and it's not part of the Legacy update file.
What has changed is that Passage Express is now offering a limited
version free to Legacy users and a button has been added to the
Legacy Toolbar. The first time you click the button, you get the

- and has it increased the download size significantly?
I really want the update, but currently on a lousy dialup line and
dread another large download.
Can we be offered the option *not* to downloadPassage Express?

I agree Jack. Hugely underwhelmed with PE too.
After uninstalling I needed to run Registry Mechanic to get my system
running properly.
In fact I'm so cranky about it, I removed the PE icon from my Toolbar!

When I installed PE on my main machine I did what I normally do - save to
disk instead of directly running the install from the web. Everything went
OK. However, when I wanted to install it on another machine I took a
different approach. The download file is 41MB and so I just ran it from

There is something else that needs to be implemented. That is to give
the user the option of where to install PE. I tried it out yesterday
and it installed automatically on my C drive, which is too small (I
have added another much larger drive on which I load programs and keep
data). So

Hi Cathy and others,
If you want to keep everything in your transfer to a new Legacy file, use
the direct transfer. Do not go through the gedcom and import, just export
to a new Legacy file, then delete the Private material. I just did that

Hi Jane,
You can also include your Family File.
However you need to be aware that it includes the whole file. I mean
the whole file - not just the people tagged. I mean the Whole File -

Living Details etc. It simply copies the
