I think Legacy's gedcom format is not the problem. It's just that a
gedcom file strips away all the formatting that Legacy uses to create
the nice EE-style citations. One example is that the US census

displayed. One of them should resemble a notepad. Click on that.

I never use Purge Unused Locations afraid I might delete something
valid but smehow become unattached.
Instead I created a new Location caled - Unused Location the
dash ensures it's at the top of the List.
When I find a Location I'm sure is obsolute, I merge it into

I've just discovered a curious thing. When you select an existing
repository for a new source created using the SourceWriter, the Notes
window appears to be an active window, with a blinking cursor. There
is even a greyed out scroll bar. However, you cannot add notes here.
