[LegacyUG] Research Guidance - To-Do List - Source Writer

I have only recently been using the to-do list the way it is meant to be used (research calendar). I have started adding things from the research guidance straight to the to-do list. I found several books that are available locally. What I didn’t know is, when you add something from the

Can I ask a really basic question? I have been using Legacy ( in conjunction with GenoPro for it's superb charting) for at least 10 years, but had never heard of 'Sourcewriter' until I joined this forum. What is 'Sourcewriter'? What does it do? How do you access it? Where is the manual about

Basic and Sourcewriter are two different ways of adding sources. Each has pros and cons. The pro of Basic is that you have completely control over how you want your sources to look. The pro to Sourcewriter is that since it is fill in the blank, you can achieve consistency in how your sources

Please be aware for those who use the Sourcewriter format that it is not supported by the standard GEDCOM format. The name of the Source in Sourcewriter gets changed when exported via standard GEDCOM. “If preservation of the source info when transferring between Legacy and another program is

[LegacyUG] Searching for People Updated Since a Certain Date?

I know about the date in the lower right corner of the family view screen, but is there a way to search for everyone updated since a certain date? I find myself in the unusual (for me) position of having more than one database and have just realized I may have recently updated the wrong

I don't use all the blanks either (totally depends). I do not like using the override but I have on occasion (I had to use it for the Mortality Schedule). michele -Original Message- From: Connie Sheets Sent: Sunday, June 19, 2011 11:30 AM To: LegacyUserGroup@LegacyUsers.com Subject:

[LegacyUG] Date Calculator Question

I just updated this morning to version 7.5.0.89 Deluxe and am totally unhappy with the Date Calculator. The colors and font size in the calendar window I don't like, but can get used to (that bright white with the blue and neon red are hard on the eyes). And, having all the information on one

SourceWriter was introduced more than 2 years ago; if you have never upgraded from Legacy 6.0 or earlier, you won't have it. It may also not be available in the free version? It is a set of templates for writing source citations that are in compliance in terms of content and format with

Thank you, Connie, for that most helpful explanation. I use Legacy de-luxe (regularly updated), so will have a search for 'Sourcewriter'. I'll also do a Google search on 'Evidence Explained' (I haven't seen it mentioned on UK genealogy websites). On 19 Jun 2011, at 16:23, Connie Sheets

Just remember that opening an individual and hitting save -- having done absolutely nothing -- counts as an update in Legacy. Your modified list may run many, many more folks than have actually been modified in any way. You can only exit the screen with cancel which makes no sense, of course,

I forgot to mention that using the X to close, which is by definition supposed to be neutral, also changes the modified date. Lots of little traps to dodge. Wm Voss On 19-Jun-11 8:07 PM, Wm Voss wrote: Just remember that opening an individual and hitting save -- having done absolutely nothing
