Donna,
Did you clear relationships before re-setting them?
To make absolutely sure you could set them to someone completely
different and then come back and set them to your normal person.

Thanks for the input everyone. I am encouraged that someone else was able to

Everyone,
Every now and again you have to re-run Tools - Set Relationships.
That's just the way it is. A few relationships auto update as you add
people but most don't.

I think you stumbled upon a slight bug...at least in my opinion.
I started by adding an unknown gender child to myself. Strangely, Legacy
shows the relationship to me as a SON as I view the unknown gender child. So
that's the start of the bug.
I then changed the gender from unknown to FEMALE. Tha
Hi Donna,
One of the things that Legacy used to do with unknown gender is to put
the name in italics. I am not sure if Legacy 8 does it, but you might
want to take a look at your index and see if there are any names in
italics.
Glad that you got it fixed though.

Thanks everyone for the assistance.
The radio button was listed as female. I had originally put her in as an

didn't know the sex of two of them. I changed it to female when I found out
the correct sex and the name.

If she is not married you need to open her for edit and change the
gender from M to F. if she is married then you have to use Edit > Swap
husband and wife to change gender for both her and her spouse.
After making the change you will have to recalculate the relationships.

Hi Donna,
When you look at the person in the 'family view' is she on the right
side?
If you inadvertently added her in on the left side, Legacy would
automatically assume she was a male.
If so, I think you can unlink her from the family as a son, then relink
her as a daughter.
