Hi RINs and MRINs are auto-generated identities applied to individuals and marriages as they are created. They are there so that the various parts of the Legacy database can connect to the correct individuals and marriages. You might say that Frank married Ann, but Legacy will know that

I suggest you don’t include them in reports. You don’t need them and those persons reading your reports won’t understand them. These are autogenerated numbers that database programs need to have. Some people tie the RINs/MRINs to their paper filing system (I don’t). Michele Simmons

I definitely need to understand RINs and MRINs as I am getting ready to create a Descendant Report - 12 generations. I do not have any of these numbers on the names I have entered into my Legacy file. Obviously it is something that I did not set up. And, how to these RINs and MRINs work and what
