John, All reports use the same options list but options which are not available in a particular report are turned off/greyed out. You can try resetting the report options to see if Children's notes become available in the Ancestor Book report but I suspect that you are not seeing a bug but a

Under Report Options, I am able to select/check the option to include Children’s notes in Descendant Book Reports, but not in Ancestor Book Reports. Is there a bug in the latter? The option is there but greyed out. There is also a greyed out check mark in the box for Children’s notes. John --
