I haven't received an solutions to this, so the best option seems to be to open the .pdf file in Word 2013 (or later). After it converts, do a standard Find/Replace, then re-save to .pdf.
(By they way, there are 10 spaces between the parens and the dash.)

Subject: How to suppress blank spaces in reports

Is there a way to suppress (remove) blank spaces in reports? Specifically, I'm printing a Name List (Index) Report, and for every listing that lacks birth and death dates, it prints thusly:
John DOE ( - )

Is there a way to eliminate the blanks where there is no data present?

Thanks, all!
   Frank
