Is there an option in Legacy (or perhaps LTools) to remove all the
instances where there is a source listed under UNSPECIFIED? Before I
realized the best way to handle my cousin's gedcom and put his research
note in every field where there was information, I had put his research

Don't think Legacy has this feature, but in LTools Run Raw SQL, or MS

I suggest that you take a look at Search and Replace and replace the contents
with blank - or is there a reason as to why you cannot do that?
