When you set up your custom list you will see a load and save button.
Use the save to save your settings by giving it a name. I do not use
that feature but it looks like you can save up to 10 custom settings.
Use the load button to reload your custom settings if Legacy reverts to
the defaults

How do I keep my settings in Customize Name List Fields in View/Name List in
the Family View? I want Marr1 to show up but everytime Legacy closes it reverts
