The number of pics handled by Legacy is limitless. Legacy does not store or
copy your pics in a separate database. Rather, Legacy links to your current
pictures. That is why you have to tell it where the files are located. Legacy
does provide a folder for pictures if you choose to

I have only about 100 picture files so far. They are a mix of JPG, TIF and PDF.
I am exploring the possibility that it may be the total number on
pictures in one-single gallery that causes my trouble. What is the
maximum number of pictures you have in any one single gallery?
How much memory do you have on your computer? Which version of Windows
do you have? You need a minimum of 2 MB if you have Windows 7 - it's
better with 4 MB.
Do you have other programs running in the background when going into
the Picture Gallery?
