I do mostly Basic, but when you have a source exmple: title: USA IL Cook Chicago census 1930. Step one. confirm this source is attached to at least one person (or it changes without asking). Step two. find the person to recieve a 'new' source (1920) and add the 1930 to that person. Step three.

Kevin, Whether you are using SourceWriter or the Basic format, you will need to create your source citation once, but then you can use the Source Clipboard to paste the source into the multiple records. And, as Rich has already explained, you can edit a source and create a new one. More

Kevin: It depends on *where* the original source citation is. If it's in a Word document or at Ancestry.com, then you can copy/paste individual elements of the citation into appropriate fields in Legacy but you can't do the whole thing in one operation. We just had a fairly long thread

Thanks Kirsten, that is what I needed to know. I suppose the ability to copy and paste elements of the citation is not a total loss. Kevin On Fri, Jun 18, 2010 at 1:29 PM, Kirsten Bowman vik...@rvi.net wrote: Kevin: It depends on *where* the original source citation is. If it's in a Word

AFAIK, there is no way to sort the Index on anything other than RIN, User ID, First Name, or Surname.  In fact, I do not think there is anyplace inside Legacy where you can sort like this. You can do a search for dates within a range, or you could export your name list to .csv format and sort it
