Re: [LegacyUG] Measuring distance between two places
Here are the instructions as per the Help in Legacy: Distance and Bearing Calculator (Deluxe Edition only) The Distance and Bearing Calculator is used to find the distance and compass direction between any two points on earth specified by a latitude and longitude. (See Latitude and Longitudemk:@MSITStore:C:\Legacy\Legacy7.chm::/html/latitude_and_longitude.htm for more information on this subject.) The calculator uses great circle spherical trigonometry to figure the shortest distance and direction between points. The Distance and Bearing Calculator is reached by choosing Distance and Bearing Calculator from the Tools menu. It is also available by clicking the Calculator button on the Master Location Listmk:@MSITStore:C:\Legacy\Legacy7.chm::/html/master_locations_list.htm, Adding or Editing Master Locationsmk:@MSITStore:C:\Legacy\Legacy7.chm::/html/adding_or_editing_master_locations.htm screen, and Addressmk:@MSITStore:C:\Legacy\Legacy7.chm::/html/new_address.htm screen. Finding the Distance Between Two Points To find the distance and bearing from one point to another: 1. In the Latitude and Longitude of First Location box, enter the two coordinates of the starting location. 2. In the Latitude and Longitude of Second Location box, enter the two coordinates of the ending location. 3. Click the Calculate Distance and Bearing button. The distance between the points and the bearing from the first location to the second is displayed below the button. (The latitude and longitude must be in the form of degrees, minutes and seconds. The degrees must be between 0 and 90, if a latitude and between 0 and 180, if a longitude. The minutes and seconds must be between 0 and 59. The seconds can have up to three decimal places after it. e.g. 681234.293) - Original Message - From: ArdenholmeGenealogymailto:geneal...@ardenholme.co.uk To: LegacyUserGroup@LegacyUsers.commailto:LegacyUserGroup@LegacyUsers.com Sent: Wednesday, October 17, 2012 1:50 AM Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] Measuring distance between two places Posting this again as didn’t get any responses to my query a week ago: Hi Just been reading this thread and think I am missing something here! Re: [LegacyUG] To Do List - How do I sort by category?
You can reach the To Do List window 3 different ways. 1. Click on the word View at the top of the screen and choose, View To Do List. This will give you all the To Do's. 2. Click on the To Do picture icon in the Toolbar at the top of the screen. This will also give you all the To Do's. 3. Click on the To Do icon under either the husband or wife in the center of the screen. This will show you that person's To-Do items, if any. But you can also use the drop down arrow at the top right to re-categorize the list to All To Do's. Sorting by category is achieved by using the different options at the bottom of the screen. After you have selected which filters you want, be sure to click the button, Apply Filter on the bottom right. Hope this helps. [LegacyUG] Trying to add a new source to my Legacy File
Hi Listers, I'm experiencing difficulty adding a new source. Ran the Check/Repair, but still won't work. I accessed the Add when in the list of sources, fill in my info and when I hit Save, I am taken to the top line of my Sources and the source has not been created. When I tried setting it up from the individual's page, the source would enter onto the individual's source page, but didn't show up in the Sources and I again end up on the top line of my sources. Is this a bug? Any ideas? Re: [LegacyUG] Trying to add a new source to my Legacy File
On the Assigned Sources screen, about halfway down on the right there is a box Show all events. If this is not ticked you can only see events which already have sources assigned to them. You can't add any other sources except to the Unspecified category. Just tick that box and all will be revealed.
