Yes and of course my Ribbon looks different than yours but the same idea.
I use the search often, and use dates to find duplications, so its a real
pain.
The part that I don't understand is that it seems to only happen the one
time and after closing legacy and reopening it all is well.

Ian, I assume you are talking about the Legacy ribbon search ?

I have not updated Legacy, and my (Deluxe) version is 9.0.0.368 - the main
search that I use is the Search > Find - that is, the one at extreme left of

I removed the store*.fsd files, rebooted and LFS still indicates that my
grandfather and great grandfather do not exist in FS.

I have had some success by using File > File Maintenance in Legacy
Family Search to solve this problem. No guarantee however since it does
not always work.

Also don’t forget the image directory and the images in the files. I recall
when I did the install on a new laptop that didn’t copy over using backup.

Sadly they walk among us. Just ignore the mail when you see the name.
Deafness is a great tool.

Does anyone have a straightforward procedure to transfer Legacy from an old
computer to a new computer ?
I tried File Backup on the old computer. Install new version of Legacy 9 on
new computer and then File Restore. My new computer hangs up when I try to
relink the media images.

I used a stick. Grabbed all the bits from the old computer and then the
USR file and placed them all in the new machine,
Then I downloaded Legacy and opened the file. Made adjustments to screen
(Which was a bit messy) and all went well.
Except for this crashing on the search. Don't forget the
file maintenance did not change the situation either.
