Kim,
That "other" screen that you can't see is most likely a small size one and
it is "hiding" behind the main Legacy page. Click in the upper right to*
half size* Legacy (not minimize) and then put your cursor on the very top
bar of the half size page, click and hold to drag it around. I think you
will see your other screen peeking out somewhere. Move the main screen out
of the way enough so you can click on the top bar of the "little hider" to
bring it to the top. Remember, once you finish with creating your list,
you will need to "full size" the Legacy screen again.

Do you keep your media in the default folder?

Check option 6.2 in Customize Legacy…. You can view a current
list on “Media folders”

You can also Test that and get a list of
missing files (if any).

I you got results from that you can go to “Tools”…”Media relinker”… and run
that… if you still get a list the Rune :Gather my Media Files”.. ( there is
further help in the help files, “Gather Media”.

Can't be that because I have examples where the file DOES have a + in

Pictlist.dbm is considered an internal file and is, in reality, not well

The only thing I'm aware of in Picture Center is that a PDF file with a picture
in it can't be linked.  Any PDF file is considered a document and has to be
linked as such even if it only contains a picture.  This should be fixed but is
a limitation in current version.

I noticed 1 image in each of 2 folders which had a + next them!  It
turned out to be the Census entries in 1901 and 1911 for the same

the Sources to which they are attached

I've never seen this before and over the years I've used the Picture

From what is says in Help, you might think was so, but in this case
neither image is attached to the Event itself: like all the others they

file name when you click the Rename button on the Attached Pictures or on the
Picture List tabs in the picture centre. We had that in our reporting system
already but I added her report to the issue.

The problem has been fixed and will be available in the next update to Legacy
8.0. I do not know when that update will be issued. You can check for updates
by selecting the Legacy Home tab. The updates section will tell you when a new
update is available and, if you have the deluxe version, allow you to update
from within Legacy. Standard version users will have to obtain the update from

Standard version users will have to obtain the update from
our web site.
