I'm new to Leo (again). I started Leo on a Win 11 PC with Python 3.12 by
importing Leo and running leo.run(). I have run Leo before on this machine
in the distant past.
When I select any of the items from Help/Open Help topics, it flashes the

I haven't been able to find a source for the improved version of Notepad.

I thought this was a simple one file install where one could reasonably
expect an equally simple way of restarting the program, like 99% of Windows

Thanks for that Lewis.
I have a simple question: why isn't there a simple one file installation

I realize that to use this for python development, one would need python
installed, and to create a gui application, one would need PyQT or some
other graphic package.
But if I ju

I downloaded and installed the LeoAssociaton, and it tried starting up Leo,
but again the window shows a few lines but vanishes before I can read it.
Apparently there is something wrong or missing in my leo files?

Yes, I did install 5.2. It appears to be the most recent offering in the

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately, no such luck regarding the

Is the correct executable LeoApp.exe?
Why the huge disparity in download sizes among the various downloads? Do
those reference links explain that?
Thx again.

Your advice about Anaconda is good to know. Perhaps this information could
be added to the Install Leo page in the Leo documentation?
Using that page's existing advice, I went for the one-click Win install,
which appears to be Leo_5.2-final_Win.
Everything seemed to be fine, and Leo started up
A belated thanks, and there are 4 more unintended backslashes in the
