I agree on a personal level. But we do want to be able to pip install Leo
with Python 3.12.

Imo, the simplest (only?) way to do that is to remove the dependency on
windows-curses.

I've not been in a hurry to move to Python 3.12. It's only been out a
short while, I don't know how many of the dependencies work yet with 3.12,
and so why shouldn't I wait for a while and let everything mature longer?

Problem running Leo after installing Python 3.12

2023-10-12 Thread lewis
On Windows PC I installed Python 3.12 but when I tried running Leo with
launchLeo.py I get:

*'NoneType' object has no attribute 'gui'** Leo could not be started ***

I also tried running with
>python.exe -m leo.core.runLeo

but got same result. Has anyone had a similar problem?

This PR has been merged into devel. Please report any problems immediately.

I have just rescheduled Leo 6.7.5 for Friday, October 27. This will give us
all more time for testing, and will give Félix more time to report any last
quirps before he releases leoJS.
