Thanks Matt and everyone else who's said kind things, I appreciate it.

I almost forgot: you have a new job! Congratulations! I hope this next
endeavour unleashes all kinds of fresh growth and learning, and,
adequate-plus-one (or two) remuneration. :-)

Re: Moving on from Leo

2018-12-28 Thread Rob
Terry, as others already mentioned, your guidance and suggestions have
helped me a lot over the years as Leo has become an indispensable tool for
my everyday work. I hope you will continue to 'lurk' and occasionally
contribute as you are able. I wish you the best in your future endeavors.
Regards,

Rob...

Re: Moving on from Leo

2018-12-26 Thread Matt Wilkie
Terry,

When I chanced here it was your warmth and helpful responses to my
at-times-idiotic newbie questions that first encouraged me to stick around
long enough to find personal engagement with the Leo project and community.
To my amazement it's to the point that I've now made a couple marks of my
own. Thank you so much.

I'll echo Offray's sentiment also: this is a great place to be, beyond the
tools. I've left for months to a year twice now. The conversation and
exploring of ideas beyond just Leo between mutually respecting minds is an
environment I appreciate.

Re: Moving on from Leo

2018-12-21 Thread Offray Vladimir Luna Cárdenas
Thanks Terry for all the work you put making Leo and its community better.

I use Leo less and less these days, the more I build my own interactive
outliner and work on Pharo for that, so I'm also away of Leo and Python
as tools, but not from this place as a community. At some point I hope
to bridge the two outliners, at least making the Leo files readable from
Grafoscopio. The stuff that Leo does reading files and giving us the
possibility to (de)construct them our way has no match anywhere else.
Also the friendly, reflexive character of this community is a continuous
inspiration, even if we don't use the tools frequently. You, Edward,
Matt, Vitalie, have played a major role in making this a place to be,
beyond the tools.

Cheers,

Offray

Terry, I will miss you more than I can say. You have been Leo's most
important dev, and a voice of calm and moderation in our discussions. It's
a great loss to the Leo community.

I wish you all the best.
