I had the same SWIG/Python src_compile. I changed my CFLAGS and
recompiled python. It appeared that python might be the issue and not
lcms.
Try -mcpu=i686 instead of your processor type and set -02
ie: CFLAGS="-02 -mcpu=i686 -fomit-frame-pointer"

can be added to BLFS? For what it's worth, libusb compiles and works
fine for me without the hotplug scripts.
Sorry, I was not clear enough in my previous reply. Dependency on
hotplug is not acceptable
