Ok, my problem is, When I type in this command:
mkdir -v ../binutils-build
cd ../binutils-build
Found on page:36 of LFS version:3.6 I get this message in return:
l...@westnotebook:~$ mkdir -v ../binutils-build
mkdir: cannot create directory `../binutils-build': Permission denied
