using the Slax livecd distro to follow the LFS
book,if so could you recommend a better livecd? Does my SATA drive pose
any problems with the LFS build since the livecd didnt like it.
I hope these questions arent too stupid, I'm not a complete linux newbie
but this will be my first LFS build

Booted using the LFS LiveCD ran lsmod | less sd_mod wasnt there. Tried
modprobe sd_mod and got
FATAL:Module sd_mod not found.

slax would seem to be a dumb choice, it doesnt have gcc installed!
oh well now I am downloading knoppix4.0.2 hopefully I will proceed
