You can remove the spam though by changing console log level to 4 or 3 (I think) (in /etc/sysconfig/console, not sure which parameter) or by adding this parameter in /etc/sysctl.conf kernel.printk = 3 4 1 3 or kernel.printk = 4 4 1 7 There was no /etc/sysctl.conf so I created

Hello all, I have followed the book all the way to the end, and now have a working system, sort of. I am able to boot and log into LFS-7.3. It is of course a bare, minimal system but it does seem to be functional. There is one problem however. Approximately every 60 seconds the mouse is

William, Adding the --with-sysroot to the end of the configure line in Binutils-2.23.1 - Pass 2 then rebuilding solved the problem in check-0.9.9. Before asking here I had checked the errata page but there was nothing there. After your reply I checked again and now there is an entry. Bruce,

Greetings to all, I am attempting to build the LFS system following the current instructions from the LFS 7.3 book. When building check-0.9.9 I get the above error. I believe the relative part of the build log is: /bin/sh ../libtool --tag=CC --mode=link gcc -g -O2 -Wall -ansi -pedantic
