I am building lfs-8.2 on a 32-bit Intel P4
machine according to the lfs stable book.
In chapter 6 when I run the gcc-7.3.0
tests, I get 718 unexpected failures that
I don't find reported in build logs. Here
are two specific failures:

FAIL: c-c++-common/asan/asan-interface-1.c   -O0  execution test
FAIL: g++.dg/asan/deep-stack-uaf-1.C -O0 output pattern test

All the failures seem to occur in the
above asan directories. I assume this
is related to libasan and something
called the address sanitizer?

So far the only discussion remotely
related to this problem that I can find
on the web is the following bug
report:

https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?format=multiple&id=79341

I don't know if that bug report is
at all related to my situation.

Does anyone know of information
about asan-related gcc test failures?
Could it be that asan is not supported
on a P4? Should I be concerned
about these failures?

Thanks,

Richard
