Currently run_test_prog is unprotected from the OSError exception.
This patch makes run_test_prog return an error value instead of
having the exception kill the entire process.

MAP_PRIVATE is used because we want to make sure that changes
made to the data in the mapping are not readable by other processes.
MAP_SHARED was used previously because older kernels did not reserve
MAP_PRIVATE mappings properly, now that this has been fixed in kernel,
we prefer to use MAP_
