in 3.6.0 master on Fedora 64 bit after deleting folder basic:
first time office complains 4 times and creates folder basic with file
script.xlc and folder Standard inside.
in all other starts it complains 2 times on these files not exist:
dialog.xlc and dialogs.xli

IMHO it is bug. Why not create these 2 file automatically?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46060] Writer corrupts DOCX file, recovery not possible with Office 2010

2012-02-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Hi Nino!

(In reply to comment #4)
 @ Philip:
Seems as if saving the document did not produce a document of type MS XML
but rather of type ODT. Adding the file extension .docx does not
automatically change the document type. To be able to tell, if this was
caused by a software misbehavior (bug) or by a somewhat not-as-designed
 user action,
the question is, how the corrupted document was created exactly and if this
behavior can be reproduced (and under which conditions, i.e.
 OS/platform/etc). So
you should give exact step-by-step instructions, what you did (which button
you pressed, and so on) to save the document. Then somebody (using the same
Platform if available) should try to reproduce the behavior.

Thank you for the test and the clarification! I will try it if I did use the
wrong format and report back (propably this evening).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46071] EDITING: Math formula editor frezees after upgrading to 3.5 - PLEASE HELP

2012-02-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46071

--- Comment #1 from Andy silva...@katamail.com 2012-02-15 06:50:29 PST ---
I have now restored the user profile, and the formula editor is working again.
However, it remains to be seen why the upgrade from 3.4.5. to release 3.5
caused the corruption, and if there is some other less drastic way to awake the
formula editor other than completely resetting your profile.

For some users who use LO just as it is by default, this could be a non-issue,
but if you (like me) have heavily customized your L.O. install, with modified
and optimized toolbars for each app, hotkeys, etc., starting from scratch means
replicating a LOT of effort, with the fear of having to do it again soon.

I use Win7 in english, and installed LibreOffice 3.5 final release in german. I
had installed ver 3.4.5 in german before which worked well. The standard
install succeeded without any errors. But when I start LO from the desktop icon
I reach the crash (tried it a dozen times). And rebooting the pc won't help
either. I also tried to repair and deinstall LO but still got the same error.
I never selected the danish dictionary and also tried to delete it from the

The Form always opens at the left hand side of the display.

I am using a laptop with a dual head configuration. The external screen is to
the left of the laptop. The graphics card is nVidia and driver are the latest
nVidia driver. (I cannot comment on Nouveaux.) The desktop environment is KDE 4
with 3D effects switched on.

Regardless of which display the main LibO application is running in the Form
window always appears at the left hand edge of the laptop's internal screen.

At first it appears to be going to display as expected. (The Form window I have
is almost square being about 1000px by 800px.) But then it moves itself to the
left hand edge of the screen and becomes tall and thin (about 600px by 100px).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46108] New: Erratic menu behaviour

2012-02-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: UI
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: osav...@uklinux.net

I assume this is partly deliberate but it executes poorly on my system.

The menus switch direction, presumably to try and avoid the menu content from
being lost of the edge of the display. However, it seems to happen far too
soon.

I am using a laptop with a dual head configuration. The external screen is to
the left of the laptop. The graphics card is nVidia and driver is the latest
nVidia driver. (I cannot comment on Nouveaux.) The desktop environment is KDE 4
with 3D effects switched on.

The external screen is 1280x1024 while the laptop is 1920x1200 so the overall
screen width is 3200px wide.

On the laptop display The menu switch over occurs at about 320px, i.e at only
about a sixth of the way across the laptop display, and is very off putting as
it is entirely unexpected and counter intuitive. (The overall distance from the
left hand edge of the external display is about 1740px.)

The behaviour on the external display is ok. The switch over doesn't occur
until the menu is very close to the external display's right hand edge and looks
pretty good.

 [This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2
 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
 http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1

more detail on this bulk operation:
 http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html

Tested in 3.5.0 rc3
Bug still persists.
The cause of this bug is that the Data Labels field in a chart is a set
globally for all data ranges in a chart. To remedy this, it would have to be
possible to set different data labels for each data series. In many scientific
applications it is essential to be able to control how all data points on an
X-Y graph are labeled, so this would be a very useful feature

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46111] New: install incorrectly claims LibreOffice/Quickstarter is running and aborts

2012-02-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46111

 Bug #: 46111
Summary: install incorrectly claims LibreOffice/Quickstarter is
running and aborts
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: blocker
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: gar...@globalmentor.com

I have LibreOffice 3.3.2 (OOO330m19 (Build:202)) installed on Windows 7
Professional 64-bit. I'm trying to upgrade to LibreOffice 3.5. The installation
stops
and presents a dialog:

Please exit LibreOffice 3.3 and the LibreOffice 3.3 Quickstarter before you
continue. If you are using a multi-user system, also make sure that no other
user
has LibreOffice 3.3 open.

I have not started LibreOffice since booting this system. I always turn off
Quickstarter during installation. There are no other users. I have verified in
Process Explorer that there are no instances of LibreOffice or the quickstarter
running.

So I'm stuck; a hard fail. Can't go further. Can't even install, as it rolls
back all changes.

How is this a duplicate of bug 36677, when that bug says that this was resolved
in 3.5.0, but I'm having this problem in 3.5.0? Either it's a different bug, or
it's not resolved! Should someone go reopen bug 36677, then?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46071] EDITING: Math formula editor frezees after upgrading to 3.5 - PLEASE HELP

2012-02-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46071

Created attachment 57101
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=57101
config file that blocks the math formula editor since upgrading from 3.4.5. to
3.5

After fiddling a bit, I concluded that the single file
registrymodifications.xcu keeps track of all customization: if I delete only
this file from the user
profile, all toolbars revert to the default ones, and Formula editor is
working, while all the rest of the profile is unchanged.

So now the problem is: what is the bit of registrymodifications.xcu that blocks
the formula editor? I opened the file with the Notepad, but it is actually
difficult to see through it if you're not used too. And it is quite big too.
So I am attaching my guilty registrymodifications.xcu in case anyone knows how
to check it and give hints on the issue.
Thanks

versions of Libreoffice but seems to have broken with 3.5. The program acts as
though JAB is not installed even though I have enabled assistive technology

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46117] New: EDITING: changes to formulae by clicking in a cell not shown in formula bar

2012-02-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46117

 Bug #: 46117
Summary: EDITING: changes to formulae by clicking in a cell not
shown in formula bar
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: domwo...@gmail.com

Normally it is possible to edit an equation by pointing and clicking on cells.
E.g.
(1) type =
(2) click in cell A1
(3) type +
(4) click in cell A2

... the formula =A1+A2 is shown in the formula bar and applied to the active
cell once enter is hit or tick is pressed.

However,

If while entering a formula the user clicks in the formula bar to move the
cursor location (for example, to enter text in the middle of an existing
equation)
this ceases to work. Specifically clicking in a cell fails to update the text
shown in the formula bar even though it does change the formula saved once
enter is hit.

Minimal method to reproduce bug:

(1) active cell is A3
(2) type = 1 + + 2
(3) click between the two +'s in the formula bar to edit the mistake in this
equation
(4) click in cell A1
no change is shown in formula bar
(5) hit enter
 contents of cell A3 are now = 1 + A1 + 2 *

If at step (4) user click multiple times in A1 because they do not see anything
happening, the cell reference will be added multiple times to the formula.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43849] Autocorrection non-functional in documents created from template

2012-02-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43849

--- Comment #3 from Fabian Tröster fabian.troes...@gmx.de 2012-02-15 08:43:52
PST ---
Thank you, yes, I know how to turn Autocorrection on and off from within the
application. That's not what I was saying. (Is my English that bad?)

I haven't tested the issue with a more current version of LibreOffice. Anyway,
in Version 3.4.4 (running under Windows) the templates for a basic
Writer-document which you can select from Windows-context Menu NEW-New
Writer-Document (whatever it is in an English installation of Windows)
Autocorrection is NOT WORKING, while it IS working all the same when just
starting Writer from the Start-Menu.

Please note: I haven't changed a sinlge option from within the application at
this point! Writer's Autocorrection behaves differently depending on HOW the
document was originally created.

You will agree that this is not correct! There is a bug within those templates
selectable from the Windows context menu.

Creating a new default template is not correcting this, since the template used
when starting Writer from Start-Menu is obviously different from the template
used by creating a new document from the context menu. And anyway, that should
be working correctly out of the box.

Trust me on that, I have been using every version of OpenOffice.org and
LibreOffice since 2003. I just re-tested this issue with my own installation of
LibreOffice 3.4.4 on Windows XP SP3 32bit.

I'm reopening, because it was claimed that it would be fixed in LibreOffice
 3.5.0 but it isn't.

Hi Garret,
It is fixed in 3.5.0 and in 3.4.5. Of course it is not fixed in earlier
versions. When you upgrade 3.3 - 3.5 you see the bug in 3.3 (un)installer. As a
workaround, you need to remove 3.3 first, then install 3.5.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46118] New: minus character that is present in microsoft word does not appear in libreoffice

2012-02-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46118

 Bug #: 46118
Summary: minus character that is present in microsoft word
does not appear in libreoffice
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: cristi.fal...@gmail.com

Created attachment 57104
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=57104
test doc

Problem description:
The attached file is rendering differently in MS Word then in LO

Steps to reproduce:
1. open the attached document
2. you should see cine-i (this is what appears in MS word)
3. you will see cinei

Current behavior:
Saving the document as html in MS word, replaces the - with #8209;
Saving the document as html in LO, replaces the - with what appears to be
0x1E (control character RS, aka Record Separator)
Copying the character from MS Word in clipboard: a space is actually in the
clipboard buffer

Expected behavior:
It seems that MS is wrong here and I don't know what it is keeping in the file
for the character, but I expected that LO to render the same thing.

Platform:
Windows and Fedora

@George:
Still a problem for you? if yess, mMay be hints on
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to find out what
information will be useful to
reproduce your problem?
Please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
mouse click how to reproduce your problem (due to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to created a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
  -- concerning your PC
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

stack looks like it crashes in SwDoc::GetFldType on this line,
 probably because pFieldType is 0:

 String aFldName( pFldType-GetName() );

but the field type pointers stored in SwDoc::pFldTypes
are dereferenced without checking all over the place,
so it would be most odd to get a 0 in there.

the offsets in the rest of the back trace are unfortunately
ridiculously large so the functions are probably wrong
(and you'd need built with debug for correct trace).

no idea what could cause this, would need reproducer bugdoc.

About one time in five to ten times when I select a range in a spreadsheet,
LibreOffice hangs and has to be killed. I use a lot of range selection for copy
and
paste operations between spreadsheets. I also use a lot of range selections in
formulae. It seems that either of these can result in a hang of the app.

I'm sorry I can't come up with a specific repeatable problem. It seems to
accumulate -- maybe a leak or some kind of range clean up not getting done
completely?

2012-02-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #8 from Philip Gillißen gue...@freenet.de 2012-02-15 10:40:45 PST
---
I reanalyzed my problem and found the real problem corrupting the files.

The document is unrecoverably corrupted by LO 3.5, so that MS Word 2010 is not
able to open the documents.

The source is the TOC, added by Word. I added two new documents (1 clean, 1
corrupt).
Here's the procedure, how I created them:

1. Create new document in MS Word 2010
2. Insert TOC (standard template)
3. Add some headlines
4. Refresh TOC
5. Save document as docx file.
6. Copy document with Windows Explorer.
7. Open copy with LibreOffice Writer 3.5.
8. Add a line break
9. Save it in the current format.
10. Open it in Word. Not recoverable (problem in Line 2, document.xml).

I compared the contents with WinMerge[1] and the docx addon[2]. I found the
differences in the TOC area.

I really hope, this information may help you. I will edit the bug title
according to the new information.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 46125] New: sdk/settings/std.mk contains wrong path

2012-02-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46125

 Bug #: 46125
   Summary: sdk/settings/std.mk contains wrong path
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: jesse.ja...@gmail.com

sdk/settings/std.mk file contains a wrong path to office_types/services files

Currently the file has lines

OFFICE_TYPES=$(subst \,/,$(OFFICE_PROGRAM_PATH)$(PS)offapi.rdb)
OFFICE_SERVICES=$(subst \\,\,$(OFFICE_PROGRAM_PATH)$(PS)services.rdb)

But they should be

OFFICE_TYPES=$(subst \,/,$(OFFICE_PROGRAM_PATH)/types/$(PS)offapi.rdb)
OFFICE_SERVICES=$(subst \\,\,$(OFFICE_PROGRAM_PATH)/services/$(PS)services.rdb)

At least in ArchLinux's new 3.5.0 package the offapi.rdb file is located
in /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/types/offapi.rdb
not in /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/offapi.rdb

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43699] Extract, copy or export Chart data tables from Charts in Writer documents

Following to this. Another useful function would be ability to paste list of
values into the writer chart datatable instead of rewriting values one by one,
if
changes are necessary.
It is useful also if charts in writer have different formatting characteristics
(fonts etc.) than in original calc file. It would take less time to copy/paste
data in case of changes instead of pasting chart from calc with following
changes of formatting elements in chart, starting with the anchoring.

Approximately 10-15% of the time when starting LibreOffice it deadlocks and it
appears based on the backtrace to be happening when it's loading fonts. Neither
writer nor the splashpage process are chewing CPU, it' just completely hangs.

Previously in OpenOffice we had some similar problems and deleting the
fontcache file on each launch seemed to make it work better. But that
technique is not
working.

I'm attaching the two backtraces. I'm watching for a pattern.

--- Comment #10 from Stephan Bergmann sberg...@redhat.com 2012-02-15 12:48:44

The relevant code looks overly complicated.

Removing *two* entries off the end of pHistoryList in
SvtTemplateWindow::OpenHistory (svtools/source/contnr/templwin.cxx) indeed
looks odd, but is effectively
in there since the beginning (subsequent commits just changed the underlying
data structures).

What apparently happens if you follow the steps described in bug 38009 and you
reopen the dialog after you had selected a template from My Templates the last
time it had been opened, is

- a call to SvtTemplateWindow::AppendHistoryURL with the .../templates/en-US URL

- followed by a call to SvtTemplateWindow::AppendHistoryURL with the
.../templates/en-US/My%20Templates URL

- followed by a call to ClearHistory -- this apparently comes from
UpdateHdl_Impl, no idea what it is supposed to do

- followed by another call to SvtTemplateWindow::AppendHistoryURL with the
.../templates/en-US URL

and in particular no calls to OpenHistory involved (which might therefore be a
red herring after all)

That code apparently needs further investigation...

Would it be of some / little help maybe if I find out what happens with writing
data to /reading from the user config files, both in 3.3 and 3.4 version?

wrt the git-repo, I only checked out anonymously for now. Who can setup an ssh

Can we have an fdo-account for gerrit?
