[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47709] Writer does not respect the KDE system setting paper size
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47709 Jean-Baptiste Faure jbfa...@libreoffice.org changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jbfa...@libreoffice.org --- Comment #7 from Jean-Baptiste Faure jbfa...@libreoffice.org --- (In reply to Dotan Cohen from comment #0) In KDE 4.7 I have the system settings paper size set to A4. I guess you are speaking about default paper size in the printer, right? Despite this, Writer insists on using Letter for all new documents. Furthermore, there is no way to set the default paper size in Writer for all new documents. The paper size for a text document is defined by the page format. The default page size is defined in the default page style. To change the default page style, you have to define your own default template. See the documentation about default template: https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Changing_the_Default_Template For me, it is not a bug if Writer does not get the default page size from the default paper size in the printer. AFAIK Writer get the default page size from the locale (Letter in USA, A4 in Europe, etc.). Best regards. Re: About .xhp files
Hi Mihály Thank you for caring to write a help file on the feature. It will give visibility to the work and will consolidate it inside LO. I think your new xhp file should be placed in helpcontent2/source/text/shared/optionen with whatever name you want (e.g. configdialog.xhp). At the moment you may want to copy another help file in the same folder into configdialog.xhp and start hacking the xml. To test it you must add configdialog entry into helpcontend2/AllLangHelp_shared.mk . A word of advice: when hacking, each xml paragraph must have an unique ID in the file (watch out copy paste). This ID will the unique ID of the file content sent to translators. There is also a HelpAuthoring.oxt extension in the dev-tools/helpauthoring folder of LO git. Zip its content into an oxt file and intall in a stable LibreOffice version. It will add helpers into Writer to edit xhp files. However it is not a panacea for editing help files and still needs hacking. Otherwise, if you feel too intimidated, you can write the help page in pure ODF, cloning an exisitng page and we take care to make it work in LO. Kind regards Olivier On 31/07/2015 20:47, Mihály Palenik wrote: Hello, I'd like to write help page to Expert Configuration dialog but I have some question about xhp files. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93031 --- Comment #2 from Josh Rose joshrichardr...@gmail.com --- Hi Tommy27, thanks for the assistance! To answer your questions: First, I'm on a laptop, native resolution of 1366x768 (so single screen only). Also, I've tried this as well on a monitor (from HDMI) with a native resolution 1920x1080 and the same error occurred. For what it's worth, I've been using LO for years on this laptop and only recently began encountering this problem. Second, the problem initially was on a Windows 7 64-bit build, but I just last night upgraded to Windows 10 64-bit and the same error persisted. I read through the other bug you linked to, and I'm not sure this is the same error, although some of the display wonkiness seems to be similar. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

For whatever reason, this results in broken listboxes drawn in Base's Table Design dialog, when selecting field type, which draws the listbox on top of the cell. To make it worse, it seems the listbox is actually drawn to a smaller space then the actual requirement. Appearently it seems to use the content rect, instead of the bounding rect. So in addition to fixing the drawing, this patch increases the listbox bounding rect, which looks too large in normal dialogs, but makes the Base's listbox better readable. Re: Tutorial for debugging LO with Visual Studio
Hi Ashod, Ashod Nakashian schrieb: does there exists a written step-by-step tutorial, how to debug LO using Visual Studio, which is suitable for beginners? 1) Build with --enable-dbgutil --enable-debug on Windows. it seems, that I need to make a new build first, before I can test the rest. That will last a while. 2) Run the application in question from instdir/program. 3) Run VS and from Debug menu, click Attach to Process... 4) Find soffice.bin from the list (the title will help you find the correct application, in case you have many running). 5) Set a breakpoint, break, continue, and enjoy debugging. Notice that this will not load the LO project or anything fancy like that. This is just purely for debugging. But it works perfectly well if you build LO correctly. If you open the correct source in VS (after attaching to soffice.bin) and place a breakpoint, VS will know that it's part of the LO binary you are debugging. You can also save this solution so you can reopen the same files with breakpoints at a later time to redo a similar debugging session. The Wiki page https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/BuildingOnWindows mentions Build a project file for Visual Studio. How is that connected to your steps? That will last a while. You can use the official builds and add the symbol server. That should work for most cases. However it might be that the relevant part of the code is optimized away by the compiler so not clear why something goes wrong in this case. --enable-debug for whole build is overkill, rather using --enable-symbols and make module debug=1 for the module your interested in should be enough. The Wiki page https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/BuildingOnWindows mentions Build a project file for Visual Studio. How is that connected to your steps? After you build LO, you can create the visual studio project files to open the LO-project in Visual studio - so if you want to use the VS editor to develop, that's a way to do it, but it is not directly related to debugging or building. You cannot do a whole build with the VS UI alone. So get one of the RCs/final versions and try with those. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57999] VIEWING: Font selector without preview and/or TrueType icon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57999 Gordo gordon1dr...@yahoo.com changed: What|Removed |Added See Also||https://bugs.documentfounda ||tion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=79 ||643 --- Comment #23 from Gordo gordon1dr...@yahoo.com --- This may be related to font substitution. 1. New Text Document. 2. Insert → Special Character → Font: SimSun and Subset: Mathematical Operators. 3. Select U+222A (it looks like a U) and Insert. 4. Select the character and right click → Character → Font tab → Style: Bold. Note: Between the language and the preview it will say, “This font style will be simulated or the closest matching style will be used.” 5. Still in Character dialogue, change Font to Times New Roman and keep Style as Bold. Note: Times New Roman does not have this glyph. 6. Save document. 7. Close LO. 8. Open Writer and close blank document to Start Centre. 9. Open saved document. Result: Character is a block and Font Name dropdown in toolbar does not display the fonts correctly. In the Special Characters dialogue, many of the glyphs will be blocks as well. Any new document during this session will have the buggy Font Name dropdown. If another document is opened first before this document then the character will display “correctly”. When Writer is first opened, the saved document can be opened from the recent list in the toolbar and the character will be a block. Opening other documents from the dropdown in the toolbar may result in other documents not displaying correctly for the session (bug 92992). I have had greater success in seeing the corruption in bug 48851 with this method. Even though it might not be related, this bug might exacerbate that one. [GSoC] Improve user experience with CMIS – Weekly report #10
This week mainly I was looking for bugs. My commits: * When user aborted an authorization to the service, listbox still was showing service's name. Now in this situation a listbox field will be empty * I improved save mode. Now the file name entry is not cleared when you select folder. * “Wait” mouse cursor while expanding node in the tree * Title bar didn't contain any information that opened file is loaded from remote service. I've added “(Remote)” after its path. * I've increased a speed of loading a folders content. We had two widgets containing the same data (FolderTree and SvtFileView). Their work was independent and remote directory was read two times. I used cached data from SvtFileView for filling the tree, and load time was decreased two times. * CMIS: When two different users wanted to use one repository, session was cached only for the first. We was looking for cached session with key: URL + RepoID, so for second user a login box didn't appear and was used the same session. To fix this I added to the key also an user field. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92872] CALC cell selection fails
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92872 C. Andrews Lavarre alava...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #3 from C. Andrews Lavarre alava...@gmail.com --- The bug is repeatable. Attached is a spreadsheet that I use. There are two buttons at the top of columns J and K: Process and Arrange. Process runs the macro f2b_proc (see below). Arrange runs the macro d2b_fix. The procedure is the following: I manually copy text in two columns from a terminal window in this form: 21 117.21.0.0 22 50.63.0.0 31 218.87.0.0 33 218.65.0.0 51 61.160.0.0 67 43.229.0.0 101 221.229.0.0 139 58.218.0.0 143 222.186.0.0 521 43.255.0.0 (these are data from fail2ban on number of failed attempts by the indicated IP subnet). 1. I paste the data, which invokes the Data Text to Columns routine to parse the text into two columns in the current row at columns E and F. 2. I run Process (f2b_proc) to sort them DESCENDING on the first column (E), then cut and paste TRANSPOSE to current row, column J. The first time I run Process it correctly sorts, but the cut and paste fail. If I run Process again it succeeds. 3. Now the data are transposed in the two-row form 521143139101675133312221 43.255.0.0222.186.0.058.218.0.0221.229.0.043.229.0.0 61.160.0.0218.65.0.0218.87.0.050.63.0.0117.21.0.0 beginning at current row, column J. 4. I click Arrange (f2b_fix) to move column K 143 222.186.0.0 two columns to the right to column M. I have added wait 1000 statements at various spots in both routines to have them work (sort of) but it still fails. The 143 column is cut, the array is properly opened and moved, but the paste fails. = Not a huge deal, but interesting. There seems to be some kind of unseen process messing up the timing since inserting wait statements definitely does affect the behaviour for the better. Thanks again. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92992] Viewing: Text rendering is corrupted in particular .odt
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92992 --- Comment #6 from Gordo gordon1dr...@yahoo.com --- Okay, I have figured out how this happened orginally. I had only installed Overpass Regular font and there was corruption when looking at the file. While looking at other bugs I realised that I did not have Overpass Bold installed so I installed that. The problem was that while looking at bug 79643, that causes corruption on other other documents that use font substitution. I distilled that other bug down to what is currently in comment 23 of bug 57999. Ignoring those other bugs, I cannot get any corruption when only working with this document now that the bold font is installed. This report is now just an example of how those other bugs can cause corruption in other documents. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
