(In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #4)
Yes, I already noted this style issue, but in my opinion this is still a bug of
the XLS filter, as the formatting loss does not happen when resave as other
formats.

>From the style.xml we can find that this strange style althrough defined, it
was not used in the cells which lose their formatting when resave as xls
format.

I'm using a fresh install of Arch Linux with a fresh install of LibreOffice
with default settings.

I do not have java installed at all.

The ability to click inside drop down menus and buttons is somewhat important
for a program with a graphical user interface.

Yes that is what is being requested here.

> of an application. Do you have any requests from users for hiding the icons?

This isnt a request from users, this is about not cluttering the menus with to
many icons and removing icons from entries that shouldnt have it (e.g.
Impress's View > Slide Master, which should be a checkbox like the rest of the
views).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98125] New: fileopen: Seem to work flawlessly. At some point it will freeze when opening a non recent file

2016-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98125

Bug ID: 98125
Summary: fileopen: Seem to work flawlessly. At some point it
will freeze when opening a non recent file
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.1.1 rc
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ronvarb...@yahoo.com

I have also seen it in previous versions, perhaps in all 5 releases. And
possibly in other components, say calc and draw.
The problem is that libreOffice seem to work flawlessly, including successfully
opening files. At some point, perhaps after running a few days flawlessly, when
trying to open a document that is not in its recent documents list, it freezes.
To be more precise, it shows the window where one can browse the file system
and select a file to open. And after the selection, as if it has started to
load the file, it freezes. At the freeze point, the file selection window
partially erased, as in the picture at http://i.imgur.com/6NmygMW.jpg.
The task manager will then show 2 libreoffice non responding processes.
The way I overcome this problem is to end both tasks. The non responding
program, end or cancel window is then shown for each of the tasks. Choosing end
task will eventually kill them. Then libreoffice can be started again, and the
whole thing will repeat after a few days of running flawlessly, when trying to
open some, possibly other, file, that is not a recent document.

Yes i was aware you didnt change the line-styles, but the question was whether
it was possible to do so.

I have added it to the design PAD so it can be discussed this friday at the

opengl: shader based polyline rendering - fixes tdf#97137 for OGL

Adds native opengl polyline rendering to draw polylines, line joins
and line caps as triangle strips. The vertex shader allows for the
dynamic line width by calculating the correct vertex posiitons,
and the fragment shader is used for anti-aliasing.

non-Content View, as i would expect this feature to be available in all
modules/apps when a user opens the Navigator.

Content View according to the help is primarily for enabling drag and drop
functionality for the Headings. So there isnt a point to mess with that
specific functionality to get the functionality we need into the navigator.

https://help.libreoffice.org/Writer/Navigator#Content_View

So here is my proposal, we enable this functionality to work in non-Content
View mode and add an entry to the context menu called "Navigate with Content"
to enable and disable it (this setting should be saved to the user profile and
should be on by default with a new user profile). We rename "Content View" to
"Outline View" so it better describes the functionality it is focused on (bug
38262) and we limit "Outline View" to only work with headings, as it doesnt
have any other functionality.

The help seems to say that its limited to Content View, but no reasoning why it
so.

"To quickly reorder headings and their associated text in your document, select
the "Headings" category in the list, and then click the Content View icon. Now
you can use drag-and-drop to reorder contents."

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98124] New: Crash on copying cells

2016-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98124

Bug ID: 98124
   Summary: Crash on copying cells
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mar...@patzel.de

I have a spreadsheet containing about 660 lines of data. The sheet contains my
gasoline records.
I have some columns calculating the average consumption.

When I create a new line with data and I copy the cells with the average
calculations from the line above then when I paste the cells, libre office
crashes.

This is with all new versions 5.x (5.0.x and 5.1).

Martin

No dice. Trace files turn up empty and the application still crashes :/

Even tried doing it the "hard" way:

-
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/apitrace/wrappers/glxtrace.so
/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin

** (process:11154): WARNING **: require a newer gtk than 3.10 for theme
expectations
apitrace: tracing to /home/silviu/soffice.bin.8.trace

(soffice:11154): Gdk-WARNING **: gdk_window_set_icon_list: icons too large
Application Error
-

Still ended up with a 0 byte trace file.

SearchFlags::WILD_MATCH_SELECTION, SearchOptions2::WildcardEscapeCharacter

At least '\' (search in Word) and '~' (search in Excel) should be
supported as escape character.

Being able to restrict a match to entire selection instead of substring
speeds up the Calc match whole cell scenario.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98123] New: Auto hyperlink in cell cannot be undone

2016-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98123

Bug ID: 98123
Summary: Auto hyperlink in cell cannot be undone
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: de...@jasonwoods.me.uk

Created attachment 122931
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=122931=edit
Example of the "hyperlinks"

I'm using Mac OS X El Capitan and not tested elsewhere.

When entering URL in a cell in Calc, after hitting enter it automatically turns
into a hyperlink. This is a style of hyperlink with a grey background and blue
text.

Several problems now exist:

1. Hitting CTRL+Z does not undo the auto-hyperlink, rather, it actually removes
the entire text. Seems the auto linking is not considered an undoable action
and it should be.

2. You can no longer select the cell. Clicking the cell does nothing and keeps
the current cell selected - it does not change selection to the clicked cell -
it seems the hyperlink steals the click but because you did not Command+Click
it does not open anything either, so nothing happens

3. If you use arrow keys to move the cell selection to a cell with a hyperlink
(which is the only way to highlight it), you cannot edit the hyperlink text, it
appears like a single block inside the text that cannot be modified within it.

4. Also, if you select with arrow keys, and then you RIGHT-CLICK the hyperlink
in the formula bar (not in the cell), the text in the cell itself loses its
highlighting and style. If you then click on another cell elsewhere, the
hyperlink is now gone! Just by right-clicking!

5. An even worse right-click issue is after you right-click it, the cursor is
in formula bar at the start and the highlighting in the cell is vanished - if
you now move the cursor to after the hyperlink in the formula bar and start
typing, your text appears in-between the first and second characters in the
cell! So the formula bar becomes completely out of sync with the cell itself.

6. More issues too. If the hyperlink itself overflows into the next column, if
you right-click the part of the hyperlink in the cell that overflows into the
next column, context menu appears, and if you then cancel context menu by
clicking anywhere else such as on another cell, the column underneath it now
gets focus and the cell is entered and the text carrot appears. This does not
happen anywhere else which is annoying. Normally if you right-click a cell and
then cancel the right-click, the cell you right-click just gets focus, it
doesn't show the carrot. Similar thing happens when you right-click the
hyperlink cell itself, on cancelling context menu by clicking elsewhere you
find yourself with text cursor inside it at end of hyperlink.

7. There should be a remove hyperlink on the context menu either way when you
right-click a hyperlink.

I've had a nightmare with this where I've been needing to copy paste URLs and
modify the stems.

I've attached a file showing two hyperlinks automatically created by entering
URLs. (I'm actually wondering if these are even hyperlinks though... as it's so
badly broken and they don't LOOK like I would expect hyperlinks to look with
blue text and underline... Unless the styling is a point 8?)

That it crashes, and disables GL in doing so is rather a feature =)

It would be interesting to install 'apitrace' which is a useful tool, and to
run:

apitrace trace soffice.bin

while running in GL mode.

If then using qapitrace you can get the trace to crash the tracing app - then
we can isolate the problem as an OpenGL driver issue and re-file (with the
trace) up-stream =)

Thanks !

Thank you for your feedback.

Would it be possible you retrieve a bt when OpenCl is enabled and you get a
crash?
(see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport/Debug_Information#Windows:_How_to_get_a_backtrace)

Also, what's your GPU (brand, model) and CPU (brand, model)

Finally, could you check if last drivers of your GPU are installed? If not,
could you please update and give a new try with OpenCl enabled?

All these information may allow devs to understand why it crashes.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98065] Insert Image

2016-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98065

--- Comment #10 from Dave Braun
---
More clicking and dragging - you can create the misbehavour by dragging the
After Text indent handle to the left of the Before Text and/or the First Line
indent handle. Why you do this is a mystery. How this happened is also a
mystery.

Since under this condition (After Text to the left of either First Line indent
or Before Text indent) entered text is placed in a single character wide
vertical column maybe the indents should not be allowed to cross each other.
This would depend on the ... cell/column/whatever width but that shouldn't be a
problem.

Feel free to re-classify this bug to WFM or whatever.

Please see the LibreOffice Opengl driver baseline at the URL above.

Installs where GPU and drivers are failing to meet LO's OpenGL criteria should
not allow OpenGL to activate. There was an issue with the configuration which
has been corrected, but will not be available before the 5.1.1 release (the
5.1.1.1 rc1 is not patched) See bug 96546

For those with higher end GPUs, update your drivers -- for nVidia that would be
beyond the 353.62 (10.18.13.5362) -- and OpenGL should then function correctly
on 5.0.5 or 5.1.0.3

Otherwise disable OpenGL from Tools -> Options -> View

When 5.1.1.2 is released, disabling should now be automatic based on the block
list. And you would then have to force enable OpenGL.

For OP, still waiting on your opengl_device.log and GPU details.

I stumbled on the error a few days back and felt it wasnt clear enough and
thought the message should be improved to better explain why it didnt work, as
i had the same problem as most in the bug report of not understanding why until
i created a formula field and then it worked.

So do i think we should disable the error message? No. I think we shouldnt
disable the message as its an error message just like when we press F3 in
writer and their is no AutoText around.

@Cor, @Heiko, @Stuart: Whats your take?

As mentioned above, improving the error message language would be good and we
could also use it as a means of directing people used to the F4 opening Data
Sources to its new shortcut key. So i propose we change the message to
something like.

No references found in the selected cells.
Use Ctrl+Shift+F4 to open Data Sources.

It would be useful to backport the new shortcut reference part to 5.1, so other
confused users are aware of the shortcut change. @Sophie: Your thoughts?

Would be good if we could name the dialog title to 'Toggle References' or
something like that.

@Maxim: Can we extend ScDocShell::ErrorMessage() so that we can not only
display text in the dialog but also the dialog title, just like we have in LO

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98118] INSERT: SVG outer elements shouldn't be rendered completely

Screenshot Seamonkey with wide window

The 100% value in width and height has the effect, that always one of width and
height are the same as the space in the window and determine the size of the
image. The other direction shows as much content as possible in the window. The
cropping does not happen at the black rectangle, but at the window edge,
because the window is the viewport in browsers.

after a lot of clicking around I found the cause. The misbehaving cell width
was 1.00" but the right indent was 1.25" - normally you couldn't create this
situation by dragging handles but the cell was pasted in and apparently the
various properties weren't completely vetted so an invalid situation was
created.

Why do you think it is a regression? With the setting width="100%" and
height="100%" there exist no obvious method for calculating the viewport.
Browsers use the inner area of their window, when opening a svg file as
standalone graphic. For Draw or Impress such does not exist. Do you not like
the decision, to use the size of the svg content as viewport? The user can use
the cropping tool to reduce the image to the size he wants; which is not
possible in browsers. What do you want to use as viewport instead?

Reading "The negotiation process uses any information provided by the
containing document and the SVG content itself to choose the viewport location
and size." in the first section of "7.2 The initial viewport"
[https://www.w3.org/TR/SVG/coords.html#ViewportSpace] I think, it is a valid
method to use the content size to determine a viewport in this case.

When you define a proper viewport by making at least one of width and height
absolute, then the content is clipped to the viewport.

It affects small icon settings as well. Changing the icon style doesn't fix the
problem either.

I am using Windows 10 (64 bit) build number 10586

My duplicate report was created after i saw a video tutorial showing the
problem, where in the tutorial author refreshed it by clicking on another
sidebar tab and then back on master pages.

This should be an easy fix to have the tab contents refreshed.

The problem remains. When I am going to install a new 64 bit version of
libreoffice, I will first remove the old version (with Program remove from
Control Panel).

The program folder in the libreoffice 5 folder will still be visible after the
uninstall, but it can't be used or deleted.

After a reboot the program folder is gone, and I can install a new version of
libreoffice.

If you can't recreate the problem from scratch I'm not sure what the point of
having an open bug is. Incredibly unlikely any developer will spend time to fix
a single spreadsheet that has no reproducible steps

IMHO this should be put back in WFM - your sheet is now fixed (by removing the
direct formatting or style) andthings are okay. Or am I missing something?

The problem still exists in version 5.

F11 shows the applied "Style" (one) but not the modifications from that point.

There is some property of the misbehaving cell that is causing the inserted
image to have it size set to 0.02" x 0.02" which appears to be the minimum size
for an image. Once this image loses focus it is gone and can't be reselected
(at least I haven’t found a way to select it). This in and of itself is
probably a bug. Reapplying the style to "fix" the problem is a work-around not
just a style issue.

No I can't recreate the problem. The misbehaving row was created after hours of
gathering text, spreadsheet cells, and other data into the table and wasn't
discovered until much later.

Question: Is it a design feature that selecting a cell and deleting the
contents leaves the inserted images behind or is this a bug?

+1

See Apache OpenOffice how it is asked for and should be done a favor to UX:

Download Apache OpenOffice
http://www.openoffice.org/download/

Select your favorite operating system, language and version:
[Operating System] [Language] [Version]
-> Download *full* installation OR Download language pack

(download SF-server:
https://sf.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/4.1.2/binaries/

For current german OpenOffice this means:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/openofficeorg.mirror/files/4.1.2/binaries/de/Apache_OpenOffice_4.1.2_MacOS_x86-64_install_de.dmg/download

Contents of this DMG: *One* App. In exactly that language, the user has
requested and downloaded it before.
Installing the App after mounting the DMG: Drag & Drop into /Applications
Done!

Please also acknowledge:

Apache OpenOffice - Full Installation vs. Language Pack
http://www.openoffice.org/download/full_vs_lp.html

[quote]
By default Apache OpenOffice is offering a *single* language when installing a
*full* installation. Full installation means that all application modules
(Write, Calc, Impress, etc.) are available. The term does not belong to
languages.

When you want to use one or more languages in OpenOffice for the user interface
(for example, menus, dialogs and messages ) and help topics then it is
recommended to use language packs. *The idea is to have a base installation
for, *e.g., English (US)* and additional languages on top without a need to
install a full installation for every language. For this every language pack
has to be installed over a full installation.
[/quote]

What are Apache OpenOffice release maintainers able and willing to do what
LibreOffice release maintainers so far obviously are not willing to do?
WHY this absolutely avoidable inconvenience and burden for the user experience
when downloading and installing LibreOffice?

2016-02-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98119

Bug ID: 98119
Summary: Markers are not rendered on empty line
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: graphics stack
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Created attachment 122921
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=122921=edit
bottom right show the case of a marker on an empty line

In regard to markers there is no difference between line, path and polyline.
Therefore a marker should be rendered on an empty line the same way as it is
rendered on an empty polyline or an empty path.

I have written issue 98119 for the problem, that the marker is applied to an
empty line. Therefore this issue should handle the problem (2).

Looks like a duplicate of Bug 74686.

(In reply to Gibey from comment #4)
> Problem does not appear with LO 4.1.5 and OO 4.0.1
I don't find that LO ever worked fine with this one.
Images appear only from LO 4.0.5, I guess it's from Bug 65502.
